What Are the Entry Requirements for Belize?
To enter Belize, citizens of the following countries must have a valid passport with an expiration date at least three months beyond their intended period of stay: U.S., Britain, Canada, Australia, Hong Kong, Mexico, New Zealand, Norway, Venezuela, CARICOM member states, and nationals of European Community countries.
A notarized letter of consent from the other parent is required for travelers under 18 years of age who are traveling with one parent. Travelers are permitted to stay in Belize for up to 30 days. If you wish to extend your stay, you can do so through the Immigration Office in Belize City for a fee. Please check with the Immigration Office for the most current fee. To reach the resort, you’ll take a puddle jumper flight from Belize City to Dangriga, a town situated about 80 miles south of Belize City. The flight from Belize City’s Phillip S. W. Goldson International Airport (BZE) to Dangriga Airport (DGA) takes about 20 minutes, offering stunning views of the pristine Caribbean Sea and the many islands dotting the Eastern coast.
All international flights to Belize land at Phillip S. W. Goldson International Airport (BZE), the country’s only international airport. You must book your international flight to Belize directly through your preferred airline or travel agent. Please note that international airfare is not included in our package rates. Major airlines offer flights to BZE from the United States, Canada, and Mexico throughout the year. Once your international flight is confirmed, the Tesoro VIP Concierge will assist with arranging the rest of your journey to paradise.
Special Note:
We recommend scheduling your international flight to arrive in Belize City (BZE) by 3:45 p.m. This is important because the last local flight from Belize City to Dangriga departs between 4:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. For your return journey, we suggest booking an international departure flight that leaves Belize after 12:00 p.m. This allows ample time for travel back to the Belize International Airport, ensuring you arrive at least 3 hours before your international departure, as required.

Please be aware that boat transfer times are subject to change due to external factors such as adjustments to international flight schedules and weather conditions.
Am I Responsible for Booking My Flight from Belize City to Dangriga?
No, you are not responsible for booking the local flight from Belize City to Dangriga. The cost of this round-trip flight is included in our package rates, and the flight time is approximately 20 minutes. During the booking process, we will collect your international flight itinerary (international airfare is not included in the package). We typically arrange your local flights between Belize City and Dangriga about one month before your arrival.
How Do I Get to Tesoro Island from Belize City?
The Belize City International Airport (BZE) is the only international airport in Belize, and it’s relatively small compared to other international airports. Once you arrive at Philip Goldson International Airport in Belize City, your adventure truly begins. Typically, it takes about 45 minutes to collect your luggage, pass through immigration, and clear customs.
After clearing customs at Philip Goldson International Airport, turn immediately to the left within the same building to check in with your scheduled local airline. The airline staff will expect you and assist with your connection to Dangriga. Our Reservation Team has pre-booked your local flight from Belize City to Dangriga based on your international flight itinerary. Once you’ve checked in, proceed to the domestic departures lounge, where you’ll find duty-free shops, gift shops, and small restaurants and bars. During peak travel seasons, please allow up to 90 minutes to clear immigration and customs.
Most guests take a local flight from Philip Goldson International Airport (BZE) in Belize City to Dangriga. This short 20-minute flight offers an exhilarating experience, as you’ll be soaring over some of the most breathtaking scenery in Central America. When you land at the Dangriga Airport, a member of our staff will greet you. Dangriga is a small airport with only a few passengers disembarking, making it easy for our staff to identify you. Your driver will wear a Tesoro Resort or Get To Know Belize Adventures shirt and hold a placard with your name for added peace of mind.
If you arrive early for the scheduled boat ride to the island, our staff may take you to a nearby restaurant for a snack. Otherwise, they will drive you to the boat dock, about a 10-minute drive away, to begin the 30-minute boat ride to the island or to Hopkins Village to launch from Coral Point.
